Autism Diagnostics

Diagnostics

We are committed to providing comprehensive and accurate autism diagnostics to ensure that individuals receive the care they need. Our diagnostic process is designed to be thorough, incorporating various assessment methods to obtain a holistic understanding of an individual’s strengths and challenges.

Gold Standard In-Person Evaluation

Our process begins with the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) testing, which is widely recognized as the gold standard for autism evaluation. This in-person assessment is available in every town where we operate, ensuring accessibility for all. The ADOS allows our experienced professionals to observe and interact with the individual, assessing their social communication skills, repetitive behaviors, and overall behavior patterns.

Developmental History & Clinical Interview with a Psychologist (Remote)

Following the ADOS testing, a licensed psychologist conducts a thorough developmental history and clinical interview with the individual or their caregivers. This step is conducted remotely, providing flexibility and convenience. The psychologist gathers information about the individual’s developmental milestones, social interactions, communication abilities, and any additional relevant information. This collaborative approach helps in obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s unique characteristics.

Rating Scales & Caregiver Reporting

To further enhance the diagnostic process, we utilize rating scales and encourage caregivers to provide valuable insights into the individual’s behavior in different settings. Caregiver reporting plays a crucial role in understanding the individual’s behavior at home, school, and within the community. This comprehensive approach ensures that the diagnosis reflects the individual’s experiences across various environments.

Clinically Valid Diagnosis allowing Access to Care

Based on the information gathered through ADOS testing, developmental history, clinical interview, and caregiver reporting, our team of experts collaboratively works to formulate a clinically valid diagnosis. This diagnosis is essential for determining the most appropriate and effective intervention strategies. Having a valid diagnosis allows individuals to access the necessary care, support, and tailored Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to address their unique needs.
